If it's private property belonging to whoever parked those cars, it's simply a case of a lack of boundary fence.
If it isn't his property then it's fly-tipping or similar offence.

Oh, I'd be pretty sure it's their property.
The reason I highlighted this was this thread with people saying that cars without tax/insurance etc should not be right next to the public highway on the verge.
Would once consider these cars in my photo and google maps link, on the verge as they are on the road side of the hedge, as opposed to on their/home side of the hedge.

obviously no-one cares as the police must have driven past these cars for decades and ignored them.

It depends on who has rights to the verge.  There's a street nearby where there is mixed "ownership" of the 20 foot deep verge.  With some properties it's council only and in some the households either own it or have rights to use it in which cases it's often been paved over to give additional parking.

Had a suspicious vehicle outside the neighbours a few weeks back when they were away. AskMID and the gov website shown as no MOT and no insurance. Kept checking the house out. I wandered outside and made him aware he was being watched. Greater Manchester Police were simply not interested.

Roll back 30 years...

Rang the Police to say I thought there was an abandoned car outside our house, (Joy rider heaven in Oxfordshire at the time)
"Why do you think it is abandoned?"
"It's an XR4 with a smashed window, ripped out steering column wiring and a Kensington Parking Permit in the window. "

Picked up next day

I had this at our previous house. It’s the local council who will -eventually- deal with this after you pester and pester and pester and pester....
