Alternatively, if there is a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme they can deal with it as well. Unfortunately, it happens a lot, in our area as well. Quite a few of such vehicles are involved with all sorts of crimes. In our area predominately burglaries.

Your Local Authority has a duty to remove abandoned vehicles.

Out of interest, what is classes as off the road?
If you have a grass verge in front of your house, say, between your hedge and the actual road, and stick a car there, is that off the road enough?

Verges are part of the 'highway' - so no, that is not off road enough. The vehicle needs to be on private land to be 'SORN'd.

As long as they are taxed, insured and have an MOT where required the state doesn’t really matter as far as I know.

Oh, when I take and post the photo's I know they will speak for themselves.
Actually been thinking of taking a couple of photo's from simply a photographic standpoint, but this thread has given me a reason to go do it

What he says.
Report it as abandoned.
The police won’t get involved even though it’s uninsured. How do you know it’s not insured?
You don’t need an mot if it’s parked up on the highway, only if it’s moving between A to B.

You can check on the MIB regarding insurance, it has no tax and its declared sorn so it should not be on the highway.
