And even then you normally hear the worst only on the internet. My BMW 740i V8 apparently could blow up anytime as the bore lining would come loose, I think there was a similar issue with the Porsche 911 996 if I recall correctly. The Nissan Navara engines would also seize according to many reports, and so on...

Like yourself, I like high mileage second hand cars...One thing I tend to do is plug in my computer and check the mileage....Never forgot one BMW a 730i which had 114K miles on the clock, yet the computer had a misfire at 226K miles...

Don’t forget on the BMW, the clocks can be in miles, but the diagnostic codes will be in km.

It was already converted to miles to avoid confusion Was the old style round 32 pin plug...
