Are e-readers still too underdeveloped to be worthwhile?

I'm reading a pdf on it at the moment and the text is pretty small - you have to hold it close. You can zoom but having to do it on every page gets tedious.

Took delivery of my Duragadget cover yesterday from Amazon, and very pleased with it. Fits the Kindle well, nice finish, magnetic clasp works well.....feel comfortable taking my Kindle with me to work now (front car seat, desk drawer was asking for something to go wrong when it was unprotected)

He saved as a pdf and found the same problem as yourself.  So I told him to take the original word doc, enlarge the text and re-save as pdf - worked a treat.

With some pdfs you can copy the text into word, though this can be tricky.

Maybe worth a try.

Please note that books also fall under the same rules regarding 'finding' things that normally should be paid for on the intermaweb. ie Dont discuss it here. Thanks.

@IronGiant and @1LeeDenton

Regarding the Duragadget Kindle case.

I'm looking for a case and this one has been suggested.

Shame it isn't leather - as you say not surprising but blatent misadvertising all the same.

May I ask a couple of questions?

How securely does it hold the Kindle.  I've seen reviews of a similar design but different make which complain that if you pick it up the wrong way the Kindle can slide out and fall to the ground?

Is the keyboard still easy to use or do some of the keys get obscurred?

Thanks for the help,

Nigel

Hi Nigel,

Regarding your two queries, the Kindle fits very snugly in the cover, and I'd say theres practically no chance that it would ever slide/fall out. It took a reasonable effort to get the Kindle into the cover in my opinion.

All functions of the Kindle (keys, power switch etc) are ALL easily accessible when the cover is on.

To be honest, I'm really finding it hard to knock the Duragadget cover. Ticks all the boxes for me

I can honestly say that as a direct result of knowing that I have an impressive collection of books, nor that I read books, that I have recieved what Tom Logan seems to have got. I thought it was just my natural charm and animal magnatism.....
