Smaller phone with great camera and battery - suggestions?

Funnily enough, I am having the same on my 6S plus. Only since iOS 11 as well.

Tried a few different tweaks, but battery drain is a lot quicker than on iOS 10.

Even though it is virtually 2 years old, and I am a relatively heavy user, I only used to have to charge it overnight (would rarely go below 25% left most days). But now I have to give it a boost charge most evenings, sometimes afternoons as well.

Still pretty good compared to most phones, but annoying none the less.

Apart from the battery issues, runs 11 nicely with no problems.

Make sure the well reported touchscreen issue is not on that model because there are  a lot of reports of them failing after 1-2 years on the z3c and newer models.
My sister's z3c has started to fail so needs a new small phone, but it won't be a Sony. Shame really, as they are nice phones.

Resurrecting this thread as upgrade time is nearly here and I'm totally stuck for choice for a good, small smartphone.

My Sony XZ1 compact hasn't missed a beat, the unit is 129 x 65 x 9.3 mm  (4.6 inch screen) which is the ideal size for me,  with a great battery life (108h endurance rating on gsmarena)

Nothing I see available today can give me all the smartphone features combined with the small size and battery life, even the XZ2 compact is bigger, heavier and worse battery life.  Where's the Xperia 1 compact Sony?

Any ideas?  PS  I won't entertain apple at all   cheers

I was in the same situation (with a Z3 compact) and found the same lack of alternatives.  Ended up with a XZ2C - not ideal for the reasons you state, but at least it's still maintained for the time being.

What about a second hand Xiaomi Redmi 4x , it's small and has a 4100 mah battery that will not quit.

Thanks but it looks like it's not as good as the XZ1 compact in most areas, battery endurance rating is worse too
