I have a Galaxy S6 which is dying and want to get a new phone. However, I don't have the biggest hands and would like a slightly smaller phone so yhat I can reach all parts of the screen with one hand.

The iPhone 7 is a decent size but I worry about getting a year old iPhone with stories that Apple slow down phones with software updates, though that could be garbage?? The new iPhones are too rich for me.

I have looked at a variety of reviews online but the cameras always seem to come up short, especially in the Sonys surprisingly.

So, any recommendations on great performing phones that aren't too big?

Thanks !

It is.
I have a 6S Plus running iOS11 and there is absolutely no hit to performance or battery life.
It's the much older iPhones that don't run well on newer iOS versions.

Thanks @JayCee, good to know. I did even consider the SE but that may be a step too far!

My experience with IOS 11 isn't so good. I like the changes but it's killed my battery. I am now charging 2-3 times a day whereas on 10 it was just once every night.

Have you checked the usual things like background app refresh etc.
There are plenty of tips on the web to maximise iPhone/iPad battery life.

Yes I've tried all that including maximising email fetching intervals and a reset. Fast charging a la android would solve the problem IMO.

6S. The battery life was never spectacular before the update, but there's a clear difference afterwards.
