This is my family's movie. With a mother from Wyoming and a father from New York, we identify with the whole thing. It's hysterical to watch someone from the city try to assimilate into Country living. This movie also contains two of my favorite quotes: "There are two kinds of people in this world and you aren't one of 'em" and "So you want to be a star? Well, I guess you made it because when it comes right down to it, a star is nothing' but a big ball of gas." This movie was voted the worst movie of 1984 by The St. Louis Post Dispatch. It sure is one of my favorites. Sylvester Stallone actually helped write this script and with Dolly Parton's magical voice singing all of her own songs, this movie is easily one of the best of it's kind. Stallone shocked me with his albeit slight, musical ability. It worked well in Dolly's songs and with the theme of the movie.
