Everything I want in a Western

I couldn't stand Deadwood. I thought it was boring as hell, with belabored and distracting dialogue and not enough action. Hell On Wells hearkens back to the Man With No Name style of westerns. Less dialogue, more action. I'm not ashamed to say that they had me at "scalping" in the first episode.

The characters are great, the situation is ripe with conflict and even "greater meaning" on numerous fronts (commerce vs. nature, natives vs. colonists, religion vs. violence, etc. etc.), and wow is Dominique hot. Oh, and the cinematography is beautiful, too. The shot of Bohannon in silhouette on the train tracks is such a fitting visual in so many ways, yet so simple, I'm in awe every time I see it. Excited to see how this show progresses. It's one of my few must see shows.
