Was that private ground though?
Did the carpark have barriers and signs saying open/close times?
If anyone can drive into it without hindrance, at any time of day, then it's classed as a public road and insurance has to become involved.
Weird crash though, it's like both parties suddenly became blind!!

Suppose you are right.

I  spotted a space and was preparing to reverse park. I drove the full length of the car park yet she still pulls out

Genuinely interested if you get any feedback on the Boots carpark incident.
Private carparks are a minefield.
Not literally......unless it's Glasgow......

Well it's still classed as a hit and run. Same rules still applies if in a private car park or not. So if she ain't reported this within the last 24 hours she could be in a bit of bother. It doesn't seem she has reported it though. What a shame. Can you sense the sarcasm?

Well, that's a genuine and pleasant surprise to me, I honestly thought barriered carparks had sod all to do with normal driving/road law.
FWIW, I know a woman who drove off from a bump in an (open) Asda carpark.
She, quite rightly, got 6 points and a £300 fine for leaving the scene.

A good learning curve for us. Will find out how it ends when it ends as the Officer said he would be in touch

Even if theroad laws do not apply because it is a private car park I would have thought it could be classed as criminal damage or something similar. May not get points on license but still it would be something. May make them think twice about not reporting it the next time.
