Bit of a specific one here.
Has anyone with the Clio nav, captur nav or megane nav managed to add France and Italy to the built in database without going through Renault?
The Renault forums seem pretty negative on this one and Renault dealers want a pretty penny.

Disgusting. World maps should be standard installation on built-in sat-navs, and aftermarket ones too. Would surely make vehicle manufacture and distribution easier.

Certainly you'd think French cars would have France on them. My captur has UK and Gibraltar. Not sure the logic of that and not supplying the two countries you'd need to drive through to join them up.
Unless Renault are just trying to squeeze another few (hundred) Euros? Surely not.

Might be worth using a mobile app? And pre download all the countries you need?

If the original owner "forgot" to pay the £90 for the Europe option then you go on Renault medi nav tool box and download them to a usb memory stick and then transfer them to the car - easy to do . Just have your credit car ready LOL PS dealer would not be interested in doing this its strictly diy

Nothing.  I can't find any way to do it without donating money to Renault.

Just a thought, the price you have is for supply in the UK by a UK Renault representative?
I'm just wondering if a different price would apply if it were done in France.

If you are going to have your built in sat nav working in other countries then the only way to go it is to pay the £180 to £260 depending on how many countries you want to add . Blame the original purchaser for not spending £90 for full European maps . Realistically if you are only going to Europe once or twice a year ? buy a Garmin or tom tom.
