Yesterday was an historic day for me, a day which I never thought possible, when 2 unconnected news items could be announced with such opposing and unlikely scenarios......
As a fast and experienced driver who has spent many years travelling on German autobahnen when living in Germany and an equal amount of time driving on interstates when I lived in California, I consider the two outstanding news items are worthy of your attention.......

1) European law will make GPS speed limiters compulsory and will be required to be fitted to all new cars from 2022.

German legislation will impose a blanket speed limit of 130 kph on it's autobahn system at the same time, finally ending limit-free roads.

2) California introduced a bill for approval by the legislature which will see Interstate 5 and State route 99 in Orange County, which connects Los Angeles to the Bay area, widened by 2 lanes in each direction and these new lanes will have NO speed limits.

I am in shock at both events and for them to be announced at the same time is nothing but a cruel joke.

German legislation will NOT impose a blanket speed limit on the Autobahn network in 2022, it was a proposal that was leaked although the German government has since stated it simply won't happen and that there are more intelligent systems in place than speed reduction.

Guess you've copied and pasted this from somewhere, at least check your facts beforehand!!

As above. That autobahn proposal lasted about 30 seconds before it was shot down by the Government.
