My Uncle Bill's Austin A40. It was so small in the back that I had to put my boney arse on the wheel arch that intruded onto the back seat. I was small in those days, had to stand twice in the sun to cast a shadow.

Triumph 2000, I can still remember my Dad spending ages cleaning it before we went on holiday.

Not actual car...

Edit: And the overdrive switch, that never caught on did it...

The first new car my dad bought is my earliest memory of cars. Without googling, anyone know what it is?

The 1st car I remember craving...Maserati Bora

1st car I owned...Nissan Bluebird

That was very similar to the first car I can remember being driven in but badged as a Cortina though. I got taken home from nursery in it (so must have been about 3-4) by a family friend. I remember the 'huge' dashboard and excitedly telling my Mum I'd been in a Cortina. I was crackers about cars (still am I guess).

Around the same time my uncle had a green MGB GT which my cousin and I could sit on the 'back seat' together (which shows how young we must have been). It was a 1965 C plate as I asked him about it a few years ago, so must have been one of the first GTs.

Only just realised that's a Consul, not a Cortina
This is the Cortina, slightly different grill
