I’ve never had to diagnose a Ford, but I can’t believe a glowplug error light could be related to the turbo?

Have you had the codes read?

Yes I had them read, the garage said it reported turbo not performing correctly.
When it starts flashing I loose power/in creep home mode, I just pull over and rest a minute and it clears. All well again.

My focus loves the Costco diesel for some reason. As you said, mine feels a lot smoother especially under acceleration on motorways and what not. If you ever get the dreaded dash cluster failure don't go to Ford. A got mine fixed for £30

The Costco diesel claims to be Premium Diesel, I fill up with it when I am nearby.  Its cheaper than Asda at the mo.

Their premium petrol is 99 RON.

Dam, sounds like your turbo is dying as my transit had a similar fault.

Running it on BP ultimate certainly cut down the frequency of the fault for me, but I still had to change the turbo in the end. Still I got 4 years out of a faulty turbo

Also when was the last time your egr value (exhaust gas regulator valve) was checked? Mine was jammed open towards the end which didn't help

Its encouraging that you got 4 years out of it. Love this TDCi, everything immaculate except for this, cant expect too much, huge mileage but engine still sounds sweet. Thanks for the comments

Not sure how fuel can directly affect the turbo - surely the fuel never comes into contact with that part of the process?

Someone just liked one of my earlier posts in this thread which reminded me...
I had an issue with a engine management light on my GTi.  Mechanic says the codes suggest an injector fault - as they're expensive and awkward he advised sticking Injector Cleaner in for a few tanks and sticking with premium fuels.
I know this is a petrol and we're talking diesels but I've since stuck Redex and Carlube through both our older cars for several tanks and they both seem to be running a bit better.  The fault code for the injector hasn't reoccurred.
For a few quid a tank I would try the equivalent diesel products if you think your engines are full of gunk.  I'd put more faith in that than just the regular additives in Ultimate fuels but YMMV

I was turned off 'premium'/'additive' fuels years ago; 1985 when Shell first sold such a thing, as there were two leaded fuels at the time (2* and 4*) there was no option than to use it.
My 1963 Ford Consul Classic 1500cc spat a conrod out the side of the crankcase after only a few weeks of using, I thought it was just the age of the car, but then the fuel was withdrawn after many cases of Vauxhalls experiencing fatal engine problems after using it.
I'm sure the fuel vendors haven't risked that since...

Edit: Honest John reference
