Been there loadsa times. Once you get past the food, beer and chocolate. There isn’t much there. A pretty small city, but very nice.

Rome - book everything in advance. Don’t trust people offering tickets outside metro stations. Try and see the Trevi Fountain at night - it’s far better than daytime.

What's the prices like for food and drink in Rome compared to Krakow? I've heard Krakow is cheap as chips and Rome is not.

Looking forward to them all, never really done city breaks but think we've done the canaries and them type of holidays to the death. Vegas in May this year was great but cost an absolute bomb.

Rome is definitely not cheap. Get a lonely planet guidebook (or app if they have one) - they’re useful for finding places off the beaten track that cost less. We paid £20 for two bottles of Peroni near the Colosseum.

Geneva is just as bad. Two kebab sandwiches and 2 Heineken......IIRC, £43.

Switzerland is extremely expensive. Granted I haven’t been there in 15 years but when I traveled through I did so as quickly as I could due to the cost.

yep, plenty of videos on youtube, as I saw one about some café and it's a tourist trap scam, no prices on the menus (always a no go anyway) and 2 guys got charged something like 50 euros for 2 pasta ready meals and some juice...

I was looking for cheap deals and saw a long weekend flight for something like 15 quid each way...thought great until we investigated further (i.e, the cost etc) and decided not to go..!

i went to Switzerland several years back.  Was pretty pricey at 2 - 1 exchange rate.

Now i see it’s 1.28 - 1

I’d like to go back but it wont be any time soon.

A strong country (economically) has a strong currency (in general).

Our economy (despite what the numbers say) has been in terminal decline for ages.

Pish poor for wanna be holiday makers.
