Reading is a passion. Listening to audiobooks is just an extension of this. I'm an audible member and have about ten titles so far. I think I prefer non fiction audiobooks. As a history fan there is quite a good choice on audible. Still enjoying Stephen Fry's memoirs. And enjoyed George W Bush memoirs. He is a surprisingly good narrator.

huge fan of audiobooks, listen to around 3 a month (they all seem to take around 12-24hrs to listen too - well the ones i hear that is) compared to only managing to read one a month

The Lord of the Rings Complete and Unabridged Gift Set AUDIOBOOK: Amazon.co.uk: J. R. R. Tolkien: Books Just finished it! Read the books 25 years ago but this was fabulous even if it did take quite a while to get through.

Love them!  Started taking public transport every day when I moved here and couldn't stomach reading so thought I'd give audiobooks a try and it was the best thing I could have done!

Found some crackers along the way, and for the last couple of months I've been going through every Harry Dresden (Dresden Files) book in order 1-12.  Best series of books I read/listened too and made even better that its the same narrator each time.  Highly recommended!

I want to recommend the Dresden Files series of audio books - read by James Marsters (Spike from Buffy and more).  Absolutely great books and very very very good audiobooks. Get them!

Bummed James Marsters hasn't done the next one "Ghost Story" due to a scheduling conflict.  Wont be the same as he is Harry, Tut Tut, Murphy, Ebinezer

I agree. I cant seem to find Ghost Story on Audible although lots on the Jim Butcher website say thats where they got it from. Wonder if its US only until next week? Willing to give it a go though, and hopefully James will be back for the next one.

Yeah I cant see it on audible either, so probably us only.  Annoys me with audible sometimes how so many books you can't buy because they are us only, and in NZ there isn't another audiobook site so for a lot of mine i end up getting them from theaudiobookbay, and using my audible sub for what I can find on there.

Can also recommend the Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child books as a lot are read by Scott Brick who is another good narrator.

Missing my Dresden Files now though

How did they narrate the stupid songs where you don't know how the tune goes?
