That is the correct order Tones, although A Feast For Crows and A Dance with Dragons happen at the same time but they should be read in that order.  Enjoy, if you get through that lot on your holiday i wont expect to see you around here again for a couple of months.

My wife started on Book 2 by mistake and really struggled trying to work out what was going on   So it's a very good idea to get the order correct

I'm half way through A Feast For Crows, first time read for me this one (only read the first 3 years ago and have just finished re-reading them).

Although I'm enjoying it, I can see why there has been some negativity about this. A Storm of Swords finished in such a maelstrom of intrigue, scheming, murder and huge events, whereas Feast slows it right now and all of a sudden introduces a load more characters and plot lines.

What's telling for me is that when I get to certain chapters I'm now just looking to get to the next one....which isn't good. Too many characters now IMHO, and not enough chapters about the characters we've come to love.

7/10 so far,and that's only because the writing is still good, but I'm almost thinking this is closer to a 6 whereas the preceding books have been 10/10...

If you go straight from A Storm Of Sword to A Feast For Crows, then i can completely understand the disappointment.  I think people get more from both AFFC and ADWD on a re-read, i think it is due to the expectation set by the ASOS that major things will happen in every book.  Still, i much prefer to have AFFC and ADWD than Martins original idea of skipping five years and picking up the characters at that point.  Although splitting the books based upon characters on geography was just daft.

I'm glad I've finally finished Feast - it was a chore. Only into the first few chapters of Dance but it is a much better read. No lingering descriptions of what people ate whilst 'breaking their fast' (a more annoying term than 'you know nothing....').

I have been doing a reread, in the TV off season, and i am hadn't comprehended how much they actually keep from the books. I am on the 2nd half of ASOS at the moment and i really cannot wait to see how The Red Viper comes across on screen
