Thanks once again. So many books.

Is the American Assassin by Vince Flynn a good place to start? It looks interesting and if I am not mistaken, it is the first book in the series.

It is sort of...
I started on transfer of power which was the 1st one in the series,  American Assassin came later but it is a prequel to the series.
The good thing is they are easy to get in to so American Assassin would be a good start.

There isn't really much in the way of "action" in it at all. It's more Sherlock Holmes than James Bond. If you want more action with your Le Carré, you might consider The Night Manager.

I quite liked the Station books by David Downing and you can't really go wrong with Len Deighton.
