Cant remember who wrote it - but Cavern of Black Ice was a good read in my opinion.  I also like the glass book of the dream eaters, but didn't think the second book was particularly riveting

For any of you RoI/NI fantasy nut AVFers, here's a bit of news for you - George RR Martin will be in Belfast to visit the pilot shoot for A Game of Thrones and will be doing some book signings in Belfast and Dublin!

The next Robert Jordan (RIP) WoT book (10th out of 12) is out at the end of the month - The Gathering Storm.  Now if only I could remember who everyone was/is and where they all are!  There is, however, a little recap pdf managing to do just that...

My Favourite author is also Raymond Feist. I have all his books and all of them are signed and 1st editions apart from Magician and Silverthorn.  I also had the pleasure of meeting him twice and having a convo with him. Great guy

Then It's Steven Erikson  - Malazan books are the best ever. If you haven't read them yet you haven't lived. The 1st book take a bit of time to get into but from there on it just get's better and better and better. Also if you like Erikson read Ian C Esslemont's two books Knight of Knives and Return of the Crimson Guard. This is written in conjunction with Steven Errikson and is awesome

Robin Hobb is another favourite of mine although her last trilogy The Soldiers son was dire.

Eddings The Belgariad was his best books. Everything after that is just the samey and his latest stuff was just dire. I think when he started writing with his wife things just went downhill.

Love the George RR Martin books but that bearded fool needs to stop going to conventions and finish the series before he pulls a Robert Jordan (RIP)

I absolutely loved the whole Incarnations of Immortality series, by Piers Anthony. Keep meaning to get hold of them again to re-read them.

It's even longer as this is the 12th and supposedly last book in the series, but it is to be published in 3 parts over the next 2 years with this being the first part.

I love the Wheel of Time series, and am considering re-reading the 11 so far again. Also a big fan of George RR Martin. Come on, George, we're waiting!!

However, I think my favourite trilogy of all time has to The Empire Trilogy by Feist/Wurts. Superb books. Have read them 4 times now, and enjoyed the last read as much as I did the first time I read it. Feists early books were really superb, but as for his later ones? Meh!

Another set of books I really liked were the Dragon Prince Trilogy and the Dragon Star Trilogy by Melanie Rawn.

I recently read the Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop. If any of you get a chance to read this then I really recommend it. Very dark, quite bleak at times, but very, very good.

Have to agree, this was an absolutely superb series, very cleverly interwoven stories.

Agree with others - the Feist stories are excellent and very readable. My favourite fantasy author is Tim Powers. Not as widely known as some but worth a try!
