It's a massive stretch to use comments sections as being representative of anyone's views. It's almost like people want to carry on the ridiculous brexit divide by digging for confirmation that the 'other side' is rabidly foaming over a non issue.

There's morons on any side of a political argument, you've only got to look at the comments on Guido's site to see that; but they're also not representative of the right wing or brexiteers either.

"When we leave, we'll redesign the passport slightly to denote it's not so obviously an EU one"

Makes sense, minor issue, moving on...

Lord Adonis (what a name!) has resigned:

Adonis quits role with Brexit attack

He talks the usual talk comparing "Brexit to the appeasement of the Nazis in the 1930s, and has repeatedly called for last year's referendum vote to be reversed. Also said he planned to oppose relentlessly the government's EU Withdrawal Bill in the House of Lords."

Amazed he's lasted this long, bottling up such hatred and resentment.

(Adonis: a very beautiful or sexually attractive young man)

Theresa made it clear a long time ago in 2016 that it was the governments intention to take us out of the single market and customs union. Yet Lord Adonis chooses this moment to resign over that decision.

There is more to this resignation going on behind the headline, other strong undercurrents of bitterness and resentment. Adonis has been voicing strong criticism over Labour's stance on Brexit, maybe he resigned before he was pushed.

Too much criticism and pontification driven by resentment and bitterness against the democratic process has led to this resignation.

As @domtheone said: good riddance to an unelected bureaucratic official.

Always liked to be on the winning side, and has self preservation on the top of must do list, similar to the ex boss who hired him George Osbourne.. Lots of chaff but Theresa May 'voice of UKIP' is pure wheat...

Amazing he should call Theresa May the 'voice of UKIP', those 4 million voters who at one recent general election voted for UKIP might now sway away and vote for Theresa and the Tory Party.

Oops, Adonis might have made a political gaff. Every vote counts at the moment.

No. That's MacDonald MP (EIEIO).

The Common Agricultural Policy is in need of an overhaul though.
