Only 4 here in North Wales. Labour / UKIP / Conservative & Plaid Cymru.
Wales relies heavily on trade with the EU so documents suggest, shocker when the people of Wales voted out. Punishment for leaving being dished out already. Council tax up again in North Wales, place still falling apart, bureaucrats still in high places, same old same old.

I think the answer to this is why the government is trying to avoid the UK having to stand in the elections - because the results will be too embarrassing for them.

Cheers,

Nigel

I think there is certainly some truth in the fact it is in the Government's interests that we do not partake in the 2019 EU elections.  Whilst this sub-forum is leave heavy, for obvious reasons, it is likely the actual result would also be far right/Brexit parties are likely to do well in any actual election. It is clearly not a great idea to give such parties oxygen.

Voting in the EU is not as easy as the UK, that is working out where to put the X. There are too many faction and alliances that control the EU and a vote along party lines for the UK may find you actually supporting something different in the EU.

Once again I need to look to see where my MEP is now and what the other offer in where they are in alliances. Problem is as well, a lone voice in that cacophony of rule makers and rule benders is often no use. Meaning a sticking it to the man, the man don't notice.

Voted other as I have no clue at the moment.

Edit. The abstain/spoil paper option. There is no real benefit apart from personal feeling in this. There is no meaningful count of spoilt paper (a mention at the end of the count when returning officers mention the number) and until voting is made compulsory, and "none of the above an option", it will never mean a thing. And I have spoiled voting papers in the past.

Yep. Better the electorate's view is suppressed.

It's odd but you used to describe them as "extremist" as wanting to leave the EU is "extremist."

Oh, you'd vote SNP.
Not the first time you said you would and a party you thought would be finished after their vote to leave.

Also, you put the poll on here. Not like the result?

Thinking about it, I have no idea who my MEP is or how they have voted and acted.
Taking this as a reminder to check them out.

Edit. OK, four MEP and four different alliances despite coming from UK party lines.
Wales - 4 MEPs
Sorry for the Wiki links but...
Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy - Wikipedia
Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats - Wikipedia
European Conservatives and Reformists - Wikipedia
Greens–European Free Alliance - Wikipedia

Now I have to work through that and see proposed to see where the X goes.

The Conservatives are now telling their current MEPs to prepare for re-election:

Judging by the poll on here they would be better off telling them to prepare for unemployment.

Love it, Conservatives, "we didn't deliver on Brexit, now vote for us." Time for someone who will.
