Is there anything that will work with iOS? Really frustrating lack of wallets in App Store and not sure if there are any hardware wallets available? All my dealings on the exchange at present....

It’s pretty poor isn’t it.  Obviously not enough demand to drive development.

I'm thinking about dipping a toe into the water, maybe with a 50/50 split between bitcoin and Ethereum. I'm wondering what this forking business is, though - should I wait until after that has happened or get in before it?

I know I could go and do lots of research, but I figured you guys would be far more helpful than the interwebs.

Well that was an exciting few days.

Bought some Ethereum after the forking as the price dropped, thinking it was just a blip and would surge. Then it dropped, dropped some more, and more... I was down £750 in just a few days.

I had put an auto sell limit on it over the weekend after the crash in a bit of a panic, but I was very surprised to wake up this morning to find they had sold after still being down my a considerable sum.

Moral of the story, after a few beers is not a good time to decide to place your chips so to speak, as I could have avoided the drop if I'd bothered to read the news before hand.

Nice for the people who bought during the drop and yes I'm looking more at longer term investments.

That is about my 10th short term investment in cryptos; I have won some and lost some, but it's been a learning experience all the same and about even at the moment.

Bummer but don’t look backwards... lesson learned as you say.

Check out VTC (Vertcoin)... I bought in 12 days ago and have doubled my investment, not that I’m looking to sell as I believe this coin has a big future and could/should eventually be in the litecoin price range.

Vertcoin - Decentralized Peer-to-Peer Digital Currency

I know people are wary of ICOs with good reason but am really interested in Wala (dala token). Check out website and white paper. If they get it right it has massive potential in emerging nations (Africa) with borderless and feeless banking...

Wala

Evening guys, I'm jumping on the crypto bandwagon, only purchasing low amounts per month divided between bitcoin and ethrrium via coinbase.....

Not best pleased about the fees though, surprised to see fees to transfer to a bitcoin wallet aswell to get the coins of the exchange wallet, I'm trying to keep my transfers at a minimum.

What's everybodys chosen workflow to minimise the fees and how often to you send the coins between your wallets and accounts?

I imagine if the value goes up as expected the fees will get swallowed up by the profit.

Yes but then general advice is to transfer bitcoins to an offline wallet in the event the exchange (coinbase) is compromised.
