@robel

I realise we touched on this topic within the Labour thread but I'm not sure you actually shared your thoughts on the new discriminatory law passed which removes Arabic as an official language and essentially legalises Jewish-only settlement in a multi-faith/nationality country?

Whilst a lot of attention is focused on the generic labelling of the Labour Party as anti-Semitic, as a whole, I haven't seen a lot of condemnation of this new law?

Exactly, as I quote from your article.

Suhad Banna, an English teacher who is also from Nazareth but lives in the Mediterranean city of Tel Aviv, said the legislation made her feel like a “class B citizen”.

“The ironic thing is that Israel is calling itself a democratic state,” she said. “I have no idea how it’s a democratic state after this bill. What democratic state are they are talking about?”

“I have no problem with Judaism; my problem is with the Zionism,” she said. “I am living in Tel Aviv with two roommates: one of them is a Jew, and the other one is Christian, and I am a Muslim. We are talking about it all the time.”

Democracy lol

To be fair the two are not (yet!?) the same, albeit voting this in does undermine the other a little. But let's be adult about it, Labour has a problem with anti-semitism as per that thread. That doesn't mean anyone has to feel obliged to participate in other threads either, nor that conclusions should be drawn.

I realise they’re not directly linked but myself and Robel previously discussed the new Israeli policy a few days ago before the posts were removed as off topic.

Whilst the Labour thread runs on with more links/names being posted as being either anti-Semitic or those that have left Labour because of it, I think it’s a reasonable point for me to raise regarding the thoughts of those sharing the links.

I take it now the Labour leadership is only being accused of missing off 3 IHRA definitions, seeing as it's hard to deny that Israel is a racist endeavour when they're actively supporting the discrimination of non-Jews within the country, based on people's race/religion/language?

(previously posted in the Labour anti-Semitism thread but removed as unrelated).

From chats n natters with a few Israelis on other forums the simple fact that since its inception this was the norm but is now law .

It to me was very clear to me that they ( small demographic) see that apartheid is now law over a democratic state .

First ever: 40  Jewish groups worldwide oppose equating antisemitism with criticism of Israel

Interesting to see it’s not only posters here (myself included) that are seeing an increasing utilisation of anti-Semitism claims to stifle criticism of the State of Israel.
