Isn’t that decided by the private company you work for and therefore ‘only’ effects those employees?  In contrast, the freeze at the Government level impacted a whole cross section of public sector roles, who are traditionally not paid as well to begin with.

I think you've somehow confused middle class nurses & teachers with conscripted soldiers on a battlefield somewhere.

It's an easy mistake to make when youre wallowing neck deep in a swamp of self pity.

Wow, you’re all heart aren’t you. I assume neither you nor your family have ever been cared for by those wallowing?

I take it your agreement with my post means that neither you nor your family have ever been treated by the NHS (or taught by teachers for that matter)?

I've clicked 'agree' so let's not have any silly tears this time eh?

I agree with both of your sentences.

I am indeed really all heart, and to my knowledge, no.
The only such wallowing I've ever encountered is on here, or when the nurses/teachers were last standing outside the local hospital/school waving (professionally made) 'vote labour' signs while their helpless patients/parents were left to fend for themselves.

Have you got any proof that those nurses were actually on shift leaving their helpless patients fending for themselves? As far as I’m aware, NHS nurses have never gone on strike?

Nurses vote to strike for first time ever

"The RCN said nurses voted in a consultative ballot with nine out of 10 supporting action short of a strike, while almost four out of five backed strikes.

More than 50,000 of the RCN’s 270,000 members took part in the poll. Another ballot would have to be held before any action takes place.

The RCN has warned that low levels of pay are partly responsible for tens of thousands of unfilled nursing posts."

They never went on strike.

The old " I'm alright Jack " mantra is alive and kicking on the forum , but one would expect it to be as the forum is mainly  populated by white collar middle aged white males I guess . We mostly do not care unless it effects us personally , but like to complain even though it does not .
