I think it's highly likely the Americans would have gone into Iraq without us, so for me the question is whether things are better or worse on account of our involvement. That is, compared to a situation in which the US acted alone.

Worse.  We placed British service personnel in danger for no other reason than Blair's perceived legacy and vanity.  Sure Iraq would probably be just as fudgeed but Britian would have saved it's own lives, it's money, and it's integrity.

I want Bush, Chaney and Blair to be put in jail for war crimes, and Blair even more so for being so utterly weak willed that he seemed to want to do anything to please America, anything, really making the joke that we are nothing more then America's lap dog totally true.

At the time I full well knew Suddam had no WMD's, he was laughing his ass off at the Wests propaganda on the issue as he most likely knew the fallout that would happen, but unfortunately the people I highlighted aren't in prison.

Unfortunately the Hague does not deal with this type of war crime. UN charter was broken, so they could be tried under that but given the UK and US have UN security council veto that ain't gonna happen.

Parliament could impeach Blair for misleading Parliament but that's seen as being obsolete. So I guess civil action by the families of those who lost their lives in the Iraq conflict is the likest of legal avenues that will be taken. Unless there's something buried in Chilcot's report that nobody's really looked into yet.

Bush was going to take the US to war anyway for some sort of misguided revenge for 911 and to finish what daddy started . TBH it should of been finished then with a strong coalition and mandate back then. Blair though it seems was a perfect foil for Bush to make it at least look some way legal in the UNs eyes and our parliament for that matter. Watched Blair speech earlier and he had the face of an extremist fanatic that believes he is still right in his convictions. Strange that as these were , are the people he finds a threat to democracy and society . Same mold I guess .

I think America took us to war with us egging them on is a more apt description. It should have finished back then with the UK having a backbone and telling the USA Goodbye and good luck.

As for Blair, I'm afraid all I've seen of him was the same when he was trying to persuade people to go to war, a two faced lying idiot who is using nothing more then his skills he is taught to lie convincingly to people, and I saw right through it then and still do, his display today was some pathetic please don't hurt me I've done nothing wrong excuse, he is obviously worried about repercussions he will get and that's all, he couldn't give a damn about what he did, not a damn.
Blair isn't an extremist, he's a persistent lying **** who like most other politicians ONLY thinks about himself and nothing else.

The Iraq war was supported by a majority of the British public back in 2003. It was more popular than Brexit.
