Being a bit more serious though.  Why not bring back national service?

They still have it in a number of countries.

Reckon it might do a lot of our young peeps some good.

IMO, a lot of the young are desperately lacking in some areas (not all their own fault) these days.

Very true.

All in work benefits really need to be scrapped (gradually) and, Pensions need much more attention. Both are ticking time bombs, dragging this country (financially) down.

I agree. My nephew has been twice to the training weeks (once for Paras - I think - and once for Royal Engineers) but both times he got cold feet and came home within the first month.

The first time he said it was all about fighting etc. I told him the only Army that doesn't fight is the Salvation Army
