Underfloor heating downstairs and in bathroom, gas central heating everywhere else.

Think we're actually using about 35kwh per day (full 24 hr period).

Don't think I'll bother with the timer!

Just checked my bill and from 12 Oct to 17 Dec (67 days) and we used 985 units. For the unit cost and ~20p a day standing charge it costed just under £2 a day on average.
This is a 4 bed detached and I have 3 kids. Bedrooms are using using GU10's (18 in total) but i changed the 50W bulbs for 9 or 11W (i forget) CFL type that just fit in the existing holders. The rest of the house use energy savers expect the lounge which each light (2 off) has a 3 bulbs of 40W, not sure if i can get energy savers in the type they are using (small push in bulb).

As others have said i'd be pretty sure the extra cost will be coming from the heated floors. My parents have a heated floor in their conservatory (so a smallish area, rest of house is gas central heating) and my Mum said they once had a quarterly bill for £700 after leaving the heated floor on for 2 weeks contantly when it was cold. Other than that they normally have pretty normal bills elec wise (£200, over winter at least).
