Chinese curry certainly has a distinctive taste and is extremely popular. However I have a strong constitution and so often crave a lamb vindaloo. I expect there's a thread on curries here, bound to be. But yes, a beef curry from the Chinese is maybe the first thing I think of when ordering.

My perfect combo:
Hot and Sour Soup.
Beef and Black Bean sauce with mushrooms.
Special Chow Mein.
Egg Fried Rice.
Chips.
*Half ‘n’ half is a winner with Chinese (chips & rice).

it's rare that we have takeways - as the Chinese takeways around where I live are average at best... and new had an indian the other month and the most prominent taste was the salt...far too much for me

as with me living fairly rural - not much competition and the quality isn't there

Beef and black bean & special chow mein are two main dishes. So it’s one starter, two mains and two sides! [emoji20]

Afraid not. It’s a meal in itself. See if you can find it in the ‘side dishes’ part of the menu.. Google images will show you. It’s not a side, lots of people order a chow mein by itself.
