A guy I work with has been told by someone about the benefits of eating eggs and since then he has been eating two hard boiled eggs a day, every day.

These are in addition to his normal diet, which normally include a tin of sardines and protein shakes that he takes everyday.

He runs about 3 times a week, and his goal is to lose weight.

So my question is, are Eggs detrimental to his goal of losing weight?

Does he need so much protein when he is not running?

Eggs are a good source of protein and other nutrients. They do raise cholesterol which can be a negative although its a complicated issue. Exercise is not all that good for weight loss, but is excellent for many other health reasons. To lose weight you need to eat less, it really is that simple.

Yes burn off more than you put in, eating less is a start but you need to do the former, and running is a good thing too.

For the last 6 months or so I have had three for brekky every day with a slice of toast. Fills me up for hours and I find them really gentle on my stomach. I cook them on a low heat with a touch of coconut oil or sometimes ghee.

P.s. 1.25 stone down from Xmas. I attribute much of that to having a filling and low carb / sugar breakfast

if he's not exercising enough to burn off the weight they wont help,
if he is exercising more eggs will be a good source of energy
eggs are great, easy and tasty but i try to limit how many i eat, keep it moderate
