Read the reviews, like most bluetooth thermometers unless you live in a paper house the range can be as little as 4 metres

I have both generations of the Igrill bluetooth (now owned by Weber) and the range is terrible

Well here's my review of the Umwie dual probe wireless meat thermometer:

Delivery: 5/5 - very fast
Build Quality: 2.5/5 - quite flimsy plastic - plug not perpendicular to side so looks wonky
Display: 4/5 - with good batteries nice and clear, with good viewing angles
Flexibility: 3/5 - comes with two probes however only one socket so you could leave your probe in and move the sender unit from dish to dish I guess
Features: 3/5 - various timers/meat cookedness/tenderess settings/alarms etc.  Can select Celsius or Fahrenheit
Unboxing experience: 1/5 - plain cardboard box with everything jammed in.  box too small really - packaging bursting out the cracks
Temperature accuracy: 0/5 - did not display meat temperature

Overall score 3/5

Does that lower the overall score rather more than what you awarded it ?

Neither.  When plugging the probe in the transmission led starts blinking, but the receiver never picks anything up.

I went through everything on the sheet - no dice.

I did change my cook style though - left the lid on much longer - about 5 hours after loading up with suitable smoking wood.  Have started to just believe in the process a lot more.  Got good reviews all round so will probably just stick to my reliable old OXO
