Cycling shorts

Hey, I was wanting recommendations on cycling shorts im pretty new to the market so i dont know any brands etc and i dont want to pay silly amounts of money asuming a pair will be comfy.

i mostly cycle 20-30 miles on avg if this helps?

i know from experience not to buy the cheapest pair of equipment as you get what you pay for and i dont want a sore arse every ride!

DHB from Wiggle are good value and they have a great returns policy. Oh yeah, get bib shorts as they are far more comfortable.

The ones you can buy in Aldi and Lidl will be more than adequate for your mileage and are very cheap.

Unless you've got a leather saddle that's been broken in, then padded shorts are a must, especially on a hardtail or broken ground.

I take your point about quality versus price, but everything wears out eventually, especially when there's friction involved! (sorry, there was no other way to say that - no rudeness intended)

I don't know of any specific brands, but they all make marvellous claims so I would go purely on budget. And buy more than one so if one's in the wash you'll always still have a clean pair!

Another shout for DHB - well priced and decent quality. Altura aren't too bad either.

Are you riding 20-30 miles total per week, or are you riding several 20-30 mile rides per week?

I wouldn't say bib-shorts are a just buy, especially if you are only riding a total of 20-30 miles a week. I ride 125 miles a week and wear normal padded shorts and don't feel that they are uncomfortable in the slightest.

Atm I'm only riding 20-30 miles a week as I train Muay Thai most nights after work but I was going to hopefully throw another night of cycling in, just the soreness stopping me from jumping back on for a few days so was hoping a decent pair of shorts would solve that,

I doubt changing shorts will resolve all of the soreness. That comes with conditioning your perineum through mileage.

you could pick up some chamois cream too , will ease things while you start out
