could you not have borrowed £10 or £20 or got the bank to give you a temporary overdraft or use credit card or payday loan etc?

i once had to last nearly 2 weeks on £10 due to a bank cock up. they kept promising me money in 1-3 days so i just made do with cereal and toast and what in the house, ie. the crap you have lying around that you don't eat. if i had known it was going to take so long i would have borrowed £20 but didn't want to ask as i thought i'd have plenty money the next day. the bank did give me £50 for messing me about, plus a few other things, so it wasn't so bad in the end. i did get down to just under £3 so spent the last on bread and milk and lived on toast and cereal

another idea is you can always plan to go round to friends or family for dinner

Interesting thread that might show how dependant we are on the supermarket/s judging from some of the replies.

Could be a future thread................................

£11 is easy
Big bag of potatos
frozen veg
few tins of cheap beans
butter
rice
noodles
bread
tuna
pita breads

just buy smart price \ value and you will be ok, just not 100% healthy.

Four Large Pizza are currently £2.49.
Add £1 for Cereal, £1 Milk, £0.74 Farmhouse Wholemeal, £1.89 Ham sliced, 70p Cucumber or Lettuce

£7.82.

That will get you Breakfast, Lunch, Tea.

£3.18 left over for Teabags, Sugar, Biscuits, Banana's for Snacks inbetween.

And if you have Tea and Sugar or don't drink it your £2.80 can be spent on ooo whatever you like.
