Thinking about buying a heart rate monitor or fitness band and was wondering if anyone has nay experience of the newer ones?
I am aiming towards the Polar Loop with HRM sensor/strap as it has a 1 year battery, compared to some that have as low as a 5 day battery, it looks smart and is waterproof too.
I also want it to sync to my iPhone 5s and possibly MyMapRun or RunKeeper.

Any recommendations?

Keep it simple, expensive gadgets won't make you train any better.  My HRM cost about £15 from Decathlon.

I ordered this on Friday for £26...

i-Got U Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor Compatible with: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

I needed a BT one that could connect to my iPhone and MapMyRun, so thought this was the best (and cheapest) option.

yes, I'm thinking about getting one - but I don't have a snart phone (and no intention of buying one) - but I do have a decent laptop... and I'd like to view the results on there (nice graphs etc ), but I won't be able to have my laptop with me when I exercise...

is this possible?

You can buy HRM watches that store data and uplink to laptops etc.  A bit pricey though.

Well it turned up yesterday and I went for a jog last night using it coupled with MapMyRun on my iPhone 5s.
This is the free one I am using, that gives a limited amount of info, but still quite a lot. Think I will go for the paid one as I really like it.
