I can't taste any difference either. I once had a free range chicken which didn't taste as nice as a battery.

Was it Morrisons who were caught putting regular eggs into empty free range boxes a year or two back?

Sometimes I can tell the difference, other times I can't depends what it is and where it's from.

The biggest difference is my neighbours veg from his allotment that he often gives us, top stuff

...ok, having read the article it looks like it wasn't Morrisons who actually did the switcheroo; that's how Chinese whispers start...

...and I've never eaten an actual battery.

Over priced and not the kind of quality I was expecting.

I tried the boxes that you get delivered and the varying quality in each week was terrible. The taste generally was good but no better as Iccz mentions than home grown or from an allotment grown by somebody else is always top notch.

Free Range Whole Chicken is way better than the cheapo stuff.

The amount of fax, water and slime that comes of the cheap stuff is scary, I find if I buy a smaller organic chicken for a bit more, I get more quality (i.e. worth eating) meat from it.

I buy free range eggs everytime, they taste better, they seem richer - I had some liverly blue eggs the other day, I don't know the breed but they were fab, massive yellow yokes, reminded of ducks eggs when eating them.

I would like to buy more free range meats, but the choice at our ASDA is really poor.

From my experience, the supermarket fruit & veg seems to taste the same whether or not it's Organic or non. However, there are a couple of greengrocers I use that have really tasty veg in particular, even though they may not look as perfect as the Tesco produce.

But the best is the woman at work or the friends neighbour (etc) who grows in their garden or on an allotment - really nice & tasty, but obviously very seasonal.

fruit but especially veg from most supermakets is pretty tasteless, the organic tastes better but i prefer farm shop stuff for flavour

on the whole organic meat tastes alot better to me and sainsburys SO organic burgers are the best i have eaten (I grab loads when there on BOGOF), meat in supermarkets on the whole is vile and often being wet and pappy from all the stuff they inject into it to add weight ...

again our local butchers meat kills anything the supermarkets do
