Hi all

For the last 3 months I've just been making my own e-liquid using a pre-made base and adding/mixing up various flavours.

I'm getting ridiculous value for money and don't really feel I'm missing out by buying premade bottles of 10ml @ £5 or more.

I use a zero nicotine pre-prepared 70/30 VG/PG base and to I just add between 20-30% flavouring.
Flavourings are "The Flavour Apprentice" brand flavouring.

I would advise people have a go. The sunk costs are pretty low if you end up not getting on with it. The kit I bought cost £26.99 and it allows me to make up to 1litre of e-juice....that's a nice 26pence per 10ml bottle!

If anyone has ideas for flavour mixes/recipes and where I can source other flavourings pls let me know.

Thanks

Off the bay. I am just looking to buy more flavour concentrates from them but it looks like prices gone up a little since I bought last time June 29th. For what its worth, I've only been vaping DIY mixes since then and I am probably only 400ml through the 1litre.

I personally don't want to mess with pure nicotine and having to mix the VG and PG. Therefore I chose a pre-mixed base (no nic) 70%VG 30%PG (for more clouds).

Things to note

-The bottles supplied are fine, but worth investing in 30ml or 50ml bottles if DIY mixing works for you

-Buy the extra flavours as an addon 5x10ml for £9.99 - more expensive if you buy at a later date. I think you would need the extra concentrates anyway and I am using 15-20% flavour and therefore the 6x10ml concentrate is not enough for my 1litre of VGPG mix.

This is the link to the one I purchased where the base has been mixed already
DIY E LIQUID MIXING SET - PreMixed PG/VG Base, Flavours   Kit , Shisha Vape

Used to be £26.99 but not gone up (may be due to demand ....more profits for them)

Would love some input from people who have been mixing...i want some funky recipes. Bored of just mixing cherry with cola and apple with cinnamon

Sounds good to me as well. How do you find the overall flavour compares to a decent shop bought juice ?

Of the 6 flavours(concentrates) I originally purchased I would say most are on par with the previous shop-bought stuff.

I am comparing with Alchemist Cupboard, Wicked, Liqua (cheap stuff) and Starbuzz. I would say Starbuzz better flavour but it's all in getting the right mixes of flavours which I'm no good at yet.

Of the 6 flavours I ordered, I would advise against cinnamon. Also, bearing in mind that these are all diacetyl-free, some extra sweetener may be required to give the current flavours a boost.

For those that don't know, diacetyl is in normal food flavourings and is absolutely fine to ingest in foods, but very harmful if vaped in to lungs.

For me, at £26.99 for 1litre of mixed flavours and a VG/PG of my choice, it definitely outperforms the shop stuff. I will buy a few premium bottles soon for those special vaping days and keep the DIY for everyday use.

FYI, at £29.99 (current price) for 1litre base plus 6x10ml flavours, one would still need to buy possibly 10x10ml @ £19.99 more concentrate to really get good flavour from the e-liquid (e.g. in a 10ml bottle aim to use 1.5-2ml concentrate)
Works out to about 50p per 10ml eliquid bottle.

The shop stuff costs over 10 times that and is not by any means 10 times better!

I'd be very wary of buying vaping stuff from ebay, especially when it comes to juice and DIY ingredients. Lubrisolve and klassicool on ebay have a good reputation for PG and VG, but when it comes to nicotine and flavour concentrates I would highly recommend using specialist vaping suppliers. The one I use sells 10ml TPA/TFA concentrates for less than £2, if you're mixing with 10% flavour that bottle will make 100ml of finished liquid.

Interesting point made there. How is one to know who is a specialist and who isn't though?

These eBay guys have a website too and say they have a lab and use certified eu/uk/us  suppliers....not that I have proof though.

They are specialised in that their business is selling vape gear and e-liquid. A bit of research goes a long way in establishing who is a good vendor and who isn't.
Of course, as long as you satisfy yourself that the person/company that you are buying from is reputable then that is all that matters. I frequent a vaping forum and there is lots of advice and help to be had with regards to these things which ultimately (imo of course) help to satisfy whether you are buying from a reputable vendor or not. There is also a dedicated DIY juice section with loads of help and advice, recipe discussions and ideas and a host of recipes as well.

Also bear in mind that vape gear is against ebay policy, although the ingredients used for DIY juice are primarily used in foods and/or medicine. As I said, as long as you are happy buying from ebay then that is all that matters, but I would recommend you satisfy yourself that they are reputable sellers.
