E cigs: Why not just give up?

Mike, it seems he hates nicotine but I hate to tell him that  teas and some other vegetables like tomatoes, cauliflower and potatoes also contain nicotine which I bet he still enjoys.
The truth is that everyone will have taken nicotine and will continue to but not in doses high enough to became an addiction.

It is obviously preferable to not be addicted to any drug, but there are plenty of people that are so addicted, they will do it for decades - you for instance - and if they are going to do it, they're better off choosing the safer, cheaper and more convenient option for getting their hit.

Technically, if you're only using an e-cig you're not smoking, so it is fair to say "I've given up smoking". I doubt that anyone that uses an e-cig with juice that contains nicotine is foolish enough to think "I've cracked my addiction!" cos the reason they bought the e-cig in the first place was to satisfy that addiction, so your posts come off as rather patronising, especially from someone whose forum name is a brand of tobacco, lol.

I was just curious to see if the guy enjoyed the odd drink as well seeing as he was talking about killing yourself slowly. Or fatty foods perhaps?

According to many studies tea contains no nicotine.

According to some studies tea does contain nicotine. The highest one I found on Google works out as 3.5 kilograms of instant tea contains 1 milligram of nicotine. I think a tea bag is about 3 grams so that works out at over 1,750 tea bags for 1 milligram of nicotine.

Nicotine in tomatoes and potatoes is highest if they are green and eaten unpeeled raw.

To eat 1 milligram of nicotine. You would need to consume
244 grams of ripe tomatoes
263.4 grams of ripe cauliflower
140.4 grams of ripe peeled potatoes

However cooking in water will diffuse the nicotine into the cooking water.

How harmful is nicotine anyway.
I always thought it was the other stuff inhaled via smoking that was most hazardous to health.

I remember watching a well known TV doctor talking about nicotine and he said it was no more harmful than coffee????

It's that you became addicted due to the levels of nicotine you inhale but as Clover was so against nicotine I thought I should mention that not just cigs have it.

Just because you smoked for so long doesn't mean that there is nothing you do not know. That statement is akin to saying that because I have driven cars for 15 years, there is nothing I don't know about internal combustion...
Smoking is bad for you, there is no doubt. E-cigs? not so.
