sorry for dragging up an old thread but i ordered some of this the other day and it's not 2.5mm. unless you measure it including the outer plastic too

Mains 2.5 mm cable does just as well as the expensive stuff.

Warning! I bought some OFC cable from the link above on ebay from the onestopsatshopuk and when it arrived I noticed it was silver where it had been cut - turns out its not copper cable at all and is copper plated aluminium which is no where as good a conductor and so can put more strain on your amp.

They agreed to refund me the £70 so I sent it back recorded and they signed for it but still no refund 4 weeks later! and it seems I'm not the first

I'm not one to pay for labels but sometimes it seems you have to pay a little extra to guarantee quality of construction!

Check out Sommer cable as an alternative to Van Damme - great quality, made in Germany (so you know its legit), and cheaper than the VD cable.

Yeah I ended up buying Oehlbach 4mm from ebay, very good seller about £13 for 10 mtrs

i have been using solid core mains wire since 1950s and although i have tried many cables nothing has said to me its better, copper is copper & will sound the same!!

I'm a big cable believer (being the fact that my ears are fine tuned and I can hear things that most can't and anyone that cant hear the differences are deaf and need not to own good hifi equipment)so you could probably do better on the cable front...
