4k streaming doesn't mean much in my opinion and sony won't feel pressured into revealing anything new...

...but a 4k blu ray drive (i don't believe this xbox slim will have one) would give this slim a new usp outside of not being a visual monstrosity and i think would force sony's hand into saying more about neo.

I disagree. Many people now prefer to Netflix/download/whatever a movie or show rather than pay £15 for a Blu-Ray they'll likely only watch once.

I agree streaming isn't for everyone but it's the way the market is heading.

It doesn't mean much because almost all those 4k tvs already have 4k streaming apps built in.

Good point - I tend to think of things from the not using disks point of view.

My Mac or iPad don't have optical drives and I buy all my PS4 games digitally. I have Netflix or the PS Store or whatever for Movie and TV content. I love Spotify for music. TBH I just don't really use disks any more for moving media around - downside is the cost which I accept.

I'm looking forward to a 4K PS4(.5?) but conversely to you the 4K Bluray drive doesn't mean that much to me as I'll likely not buy any 4K Blurays (though obviously there's still a market for this).

Agreed, pretty much every 4K TV already has 4K streaming so that would be a non-feature.

UHD drive is a different matter. I may have misread but I thought it was in the spec. We'll find out tonight I guess.

Y
I highly doubt the xbox s will have 4k blu ray but if it does thats a legit bonus over ps4. If sony aren't even going to talk specs of the neo until later in the year then we cant even confirm that it will itself have 4k blu ray and sony will lose sales to Microsoft.

Its fun to speculate on if nothing else. After tonight the dust will have settled.

Sony will talk about Neo soon enough.  I would be shocked if it didn't have a UHD BLU-RAY drive.

In reality Xbones and Neo will be out around the same time.
