Where's my downloaded game?

Hi,

I have a problem with a game I downloaded on the PS4 Pro.

Yesterday we played a game using the game disc from a friend. This morning I decided to purchase the game from the PlayStation store. The purchase went though and went to a screen with the message stating that there were also two free add on packs to download, but before I could download them I would have to delete the data from the game played via the disc. I then went to settings and deleted the data.

I now can not find anywhere to complete the download. The game is listed in my games, but when I try and play it it just says insert game disc.

Any ideas please. I am very new to PlayStation and am not yet familiar with all the settings/locations etc.

Sounds like if you had downloaded it you've deleted the wrong version.
Make sure the disc version is completely uninstalled as it sounds like it isn't, then redownload the digital version from your purchase history.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. There was no other data on the drive and it would not let me download the game again. So as it was a brand new PS4 Pro I reset it to factory settings went bck to the online store and it then let me down load it again. A bit of a drastic solution but it worked. I would not have done this had I had it a few weeks. This evening a friend of mine said he had read on another site that others have had similar issues and Sony are aware that some people are having problems downloading games from the store. If this is true I expect they will sort it quickly as they are the ones to lose out on sales.

I tend to do my purchases using the online PlayStation store using a PC, rather than on the PS4 itself. It's easy to go into your purchase history & queue the downloads, so the next time you turn your PS4 on, it automatically starts downloading the correct files.
No faffing around trying to redownload on the PS4.
