Hdmi extender 4k Xbox one x

Unable to get my Xbox one x to display 4k over hdmi extender via cat 6 cable. Distance is roughly 100 feet. Is my problem the extender or do o need cat 7 cable?  Or should I purchase a 100 foot hdmi cable instead of using hdmi extender??  Not tech savvy, any help would be greatly appreciated

Cat5e would probably be up to the job. A long HDMI certainly would not. Have you tested the cable? What balun kit are you using? Maybe try setting the Xbox to a lower resolution first to see if you can get that to work. There's so many variables, if you're not experienced its going to be difficult to pinpoint the exact cause. Have you considered employing a professional? Someone with experience would figure out what's going on in 20 mins.

Personally I think your going to struggle with any method over those distances with 4K HDR without some expensive equipment.

Firstly you need to check your desired extender can carry the 4K HDR & the problematic HDCP.

Also If your cable is  hdmi 2.0 18gbps with ideally HDCP 2.2

I am able to run 1080p but not 4k. This balun is from 2015. I contacted Best Buy and they told me to bring the balun in and they would exchange it for a newer balun that is supposed to run 4k hdr. I will try this and let you all know if it works. Thanks for the replies

I know the current spec says 2.2 but there's a chance that when you got it in '15 that it was only HDCP 2.1. That'd be my guess.

Ok so I finally got around to visiting Best Buy and exchanged my balun. I am happy to report I am now able to play my Xbox one x in 4k via my balun!!  I attached a pic of the balun that works
