I was given by my provider, Vodafone, a NUC to unlock my Vodafone VSmart10. Unfortunately, they provided an incorrect code which because I entered it over the prescribed limit has locked my phone, consequently I get the above message.
Does anyone know a workaround to enable me to unlock it?
Thank you.

I would give Vodafone a call, or if there’s a Vodafone shop near you nip in.

Trouble is, nearest shop is 200 mile round trip by bus, although if all else fails I may have to, thank you for your reply, appreciated.

That’s not fun , if phoning Vodafone doesn’t work, you could take it to a local phone shop that unlocks phones , there would be a charge , but it’s usually not that much, I wouldn’t bother with a unlocking code from eBay, in my experience they don’t work.

From what I've gathered it's not a matter of simply unlocking the phone  but of unblocking it. I agree with you about ebay, wished I'd gone to a shop in the first place, but you live and learn.

Try the online chat support also, I've watched someone get a quicker response that way especially as the telephone support can get jammed around black Friday

I've tweeted, I've chatted, I've messaged via the forum, but Vodafone simply will not assist in any way.
If you go here, you'll see I'm not alone, dreadful company.
