Hello, my smartphone's screen is cracked and the repair is expensive. If I remove the glass screen and leave the lcd screen only will the touchscreen work?

Because the touch screen elements aren't on the LCD screen. The LCD screen has several layers on top of it.

Just get a screen replacement, there really do not cost a lot of money, and if they do like an iPhone X for example then claim on your home insurance or bank etc...

When you get it fixed, invest in a good case with built in screen protector. They're usually less to replace than the screen should you break it again

Actually my brother gave it to me already broken and the repair is not worth for this device so I will wait to buy a new phone. I always tkae care of my phone and buy a rugged case and a screen protector

Yeah I always put glass screen protectors on mine and the wife’s iPhones. Much cheaper to replace the protector than the screen

It is still no guarantee though. I much prefer to use devices as intended.
