I have one of these and it works fine. This would do the job if you have a Chromecast audio with toslink optical and a CD player with coax spdif.

Tendak Optical SPDIF Toslink to Coaxial and Coaxial to Optical SPDIF Toslink Bi-directional Digital Audio Converter Splitter Adapter: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories                                                                                                        Shop for Tendak PC products at the Amazon.co.uk Computers & Accessories store.                                                                                                                                                                                                        www.amazon.co.uk

Yamaha CD-N301
Yamaha CD-N607
Sony UBP-X700 (with external PSU), no DSEE-HX audio processing
Sony UBP-X800 (not the M2) (easy mod for external PSU)
Sony UBP-X1000ES (easy mod for external PSU)
Marantz ND-8006

For the budget, the Sony X700 or X800 or Yamaha CD-N301 seem to be the best options.
The Sony's would need the Sony phone app for CD playback control (or a TV/screen, to see what's going on, since there is no display on the units).
All of these should sound better via coaxial than the Teufel Connector which I was not impressed with.
Another alternative to the Teufel, though one I haven't tried:
Noxon A120

I had bad luck with cheap things providing Spotify via coaxial and would gladly get other suggestions, especially if they can take external PSU.
