score 6/10
'The Infiltrator' is a solid crime drama with some good acting performances, but it does also feel like something of a missed opportunity. The potential for a true story as interesting as this one was huge but it just never seems to get out of second gear. Much of the film feels flat and is remarkably low on tension for a story like this. There are some positives though and it is, overall, a relatively enjoyable film.
Ordinarily I would probably be praising 'The Infiltrator', but given the material this film had at its disposal, it could have and really should have been a lot better. Credit however to Bryan Cranston who is excellent in the lead and at least makes the film watchable. 'The Infiltrator' isn't a bad film, but the material deserved something much better.
