Thanks, i'm not a fan of thumb turns to be honest so would have wated an option to disable it to prevent a) my toddler opening it and b) someone putting their hand though to unlock it (my letterbox is the deep kind and level with the lock).

Yes that’s my experience as well. Many of these locks aren’t designed for UK multipping locking mechanisms.

I’ve gone back to the company that I contacted yesterday and asked the question, as well as a couple of others.

Agree, this was not pitched at a one solution to solve all door types, it was more the unique design choice based on ascetics.

I have ‘central locking’ on internal doors which this type of lock is also suited too

When I looked about 6 months ago it wasn't available then.

I'm assuming technically this is just one of those addons that sits over the top of a standard barrel lock. There's been a few of these around for a while and by the looks of it they've just re-badged the Danalock ones and shipped it with a Ultion barrel lock. It will, at least, be secure but  I agree with @Fabien it's ungodly fugly and the functionality isn't great. An interesting and viable option though.

As I mentioned in another thread the best looking/functioning lock I've seen is the U-Tek range (especially the UL300) but it's US centric and has zero security credentials so I  would never install one. It's a shame as if they had any sort of recognised security testing I'd buy one in an instant even at £400.

I saw a quote from Direct Line saying it won’t affect the insurance providing it operates like a standard lock. Which this one does.
