Help wiring a 2 gang smart switch

Hey guys,

This is my first post here and require a bit of help. I'm in the process of changing my regular switches to smart switches.

I've come across a 2 gang switch. The switch on the left is for the lights, the switch on the right is for the extractor fan.

I've bought a 2 gang smart switch but have no clue how to wire it up. Any help would be much appreciated. I've included photos.

The smart switches are sonoff.

Firstly, do you know how to safely isolate the old switch?

Next, does the existing switch have a neutral, I can see some blue cables. Have you identified that one is a neutral. Believe the sonoff needs a neutral to work?

I know how to isolate the old switch, at this moment I'm just looking for advice, I wont attempt this myself.

Yes the existing switch has a neutral, as the smart switch wont work without one. I have these smart switches installed already but they are only 1 gang.

Really confused about the 2 gang.

Don’t like giving advice on here, cos I might be mistaken by the pictures. Normally the ‘Com’ terminals would be the Lives, and the terminals marked L1 & L2, the switched Lives to lights etc. Does the fan run on after turning off the light?

This job could be done quite quickly by a competent electrician.

If you turn the lights off, the fan will keep running until switched off. Above the door is another flatter switch which can also turn the fan off and on.

So would I be correct in assuming that the com wires from both switches would go into the L section?

I’m reticent of saying yes, I would want to test my assumptions first. Obviously can’t do that here.

Sounds as if your fan doesn’t have a run on timer, just operated by one of the 2 gang switch. The flatter switch over the door, is just an isolator, so you carry out maintenance on the fan without have to isolate the lighting circuit.

Your smart switch requires permanent live and neutral supply, L&N in. L1 & L2 to lights.

You may wish to consider, using some connectors for all your lives, then singular wire into the Live in.

Please be careful. Why not ask the electrician who connected up you other switches.

Thanks for the advice, the electrician whom did my other lights is my father in law.

Now retired, these new smart switches confuse him a bit. Wasnt happy to continue until certain.

He’ll be able to connect the smart switch, it’s simple live   neutral in, switch lines out. Hell not what’s what with the existing cables.

Will the smart switch be compatible in controlling your fan? Guess it’s just like any other load.

Are you sure the switch is 2 gang? Looks more like a  2 way switch from the labelling.
