Through the majority of our house, we have light fittings with G9 bulbs in them, they are very much similar to the one I have pictured below, it would be extremely hard pursuading the wife to change them. Recently after purchasing a Google Nest Hub, a couple of Nest Cameras and a Google Mini the home automation bug has bitten me.

Next on the list will be the thermostat and I have realised Phillips Hue doesn't do a G9 bulb and I cannot find any smart ceiling lights similar to this style so the question is, what are my options (if any)?

I must say I am not really a fan of nest of these similar system as they seam to be built around try you to pay out monthly. Please ignore my view though, may be I live in the old world lol

Depending on use, I would replace the G9 bulbs with Philips LED , they do a 1.9 watt LED replacement with daylight sensor. So thats like a 32w G9 on for 16hours for the cost of it being on for 1hour.

I've already replaced the bulbs for LED ones, I had a read of the daylight sensor ones from Phillips and it seems nobody can notice what they do according to the Amazon reviews

They reduce power during the daylight hours if on saving money. When its dark they output full power. So when working correctly you should see no difference

I'd suggest adding smarts to the Switch rather than the bulb where ever you can.
