Hi,
My Sony SR10 is not displaying on my PC Monitor connected via HDMI.
It works fine when connected to the TV via HDMI.

Is there a display difference?

Thanks
Jo

Hi,
Is this a "new fault" - or something you expected to work, - and doesn't?
If it shows on a TV it kinds suggests the camera is OK, but I recall HDMI does "handshake" - so it might prefer a TV.
I don't recall any of my PCs having an "HDMI-input" - rather I have to put the camera Memory card into a reader and Copy-Paste, before Editing. The HDMI on my PC is only an Output:  currently using my Big-TV as a monitor, saving the cost of a monitor which I could spend on an Upgrade..... when I rebuild to 64-bit.
....Hope that helps....
Cheers.

Maybe a connection fault. I run HDMI into my TV, 7"monitor and a projector without any problems. So it suggests a socket fault on the PC Monitor. Do you have an alternative HDMI input to test the monitor connection?

Hi,
I have tested it with 2 monitors and both don't work so it must be a 'function' of the camera.
I have emailed Sony.

I suspect the camcorder handshake is not what the Monitor needs - as it appears you aren't using the computer.... it's a direct connection via HDMI ( is it? ).

I doubt you'll get much sense from Sony, unless all pieces are branded Sony.

However, I'm left wondering why you can't use  a TV?

Cheers.
