It's an okay spec but you might want to look at the in the link below, it's only a 32" but it has a higher refresh rate of 144Hz as opposed to the 100Hz rate of the ElectriQ 35, which is better for gaming, however all dependant on your GPU capabilities.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/HANNspree-HG324QJB-32-Inch-DisplayPort-Monitor/dp/B07HCJNSHD?SubscriptionId=AKIAJIYNF643F4NAP3YA&tag=pcad03-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B07HCJNSHD&ascsubtag=06-3688787-01-3688783

There seems to be issues with reported backlight bleeds on the ElectriQ35 product but then again LED backlight curved screens are supposedly more susceptible to this problem. I would be looking at the T&C's to see what warranty and servicing there is on any product before buying.

No problem, the 21:9 AP is your benchmark, sounds like you've set your mind on the ElectriQ.  Lot's of other comparable products out there but with a huge price difference.

Nah not set my mind on the ElectriQ at all.

I'm not sure whether to just go for the Alienware 21:9 instead.

I have yes however set my mind on a 21:9 monitor. I used one at a store the other day and it was just... better.

Also recently came across this ElectriQ model and tbh its by far the best deal I've seen. Was going to go for an LG 34" ultrawide 1080p (WK650) but thats £329 and is just 1080p.  I've read a lot of reviews and yes you get your usual BLB and dead pixel complaints but you actually get that with even £700  monitors so its just a lottery really.

Laptops Direct (assume this is where you saw it?) have a £14 warranty/service pack which covers dead pixels and light bleeds although im sceptical about this, they claim their normal warranty doesnt cover these issues so would be a total nightmare to discover this and not be able to return it.  I find that a bit odd as other companies have a return policy which covers any of these reasons.

So after a hefty bit of research, I cannot see a better deal than this ElectriQ screen, ultrawide, 1440p, 100hz, VA, freesync, display port, vesa mount....ticks all the boxes! Cant wait to get it!

You still have your consumer rights on top of any warranty being offered, so you're able to return for whatever reason within 14 days, provided the product is still in new condition and you pay return postage.

Be careful applying TV classifications to monitors as computers display content in a different way to TVs.

Generally computer programs are always rendered using the same pixels, so shrinking the pixels down shrinks the physical size of the program rather than adding more detail. Because of this it's not the case that higher resolution is always equal or better.

The best way to look at it is that the lower resolution screens are designed for a longer viewing distance. So the 2560x1080 34" screens are a good choice if you've got a busy desk and need lots of room in front of the monitor, while the 3440x1440 34" screens need to be closer to you and require more of a dedicated area.

Dont think i mentioned TV content or display methods at all here. I was merely saying that given the choice between a 1440p and 1080p monitor, I'd pick the 1440p (presuming the rig can handle that output). Read a considerable number of reviews/feedback from ppl who said the 1080 stretched at 34" and ultrawide is a bit fuzzy so its not for everyone.  Would have just tried anyway until i found the electriQ.   None of my comments/technical references relate to how TVs output their images.

I was dead set on the WK650 because at the time my rig could only handle 1080p and that was my best choice.  However I'm upgrading my GPU next week and planning on getting the ElectriQ one because it ticks all the boxes I'm looking for.

Bit confused by your point, 1440p resolution will look a lot better than 1080p and even more so when stretched to 34" monitors.  I could understand your point if it was a 24" monitor with either of those resos.  Maybe I understood in which case my bad.
