So far I had 3 lockups.

The first one was while I was browsing the file manager. Moving files and folders around. Had to hit reset to get out.

The second was while browsing the net. Hit reset to get out.

Today was while starting the game. Reset again to get out.

All in the past few days. Temps are good and not while ripping DVDs. Any ideas?

Think I found the problem. I reinstalled the driver sets for the mobo.

Update: That wasn't it. It still locked up so I Googled it and found that my lock ups were due to the CPU firmware needed updated. The Event Viewer confirmed it (lots of errors with CPU cores) and found that I had my Windows Update on manual.

Ran the Updates and noticed the difference in performance. Before, it was running wild (blitzing fast) and now, it's tamed (so to speak). Seems to be under control.

Another update. Still getting lockups but this time it was the BIOS that needed to be reset. So far no lockups. Noticed that the base clock is now 3.4 Ghz instead of 3.5 Ghz. Been wondering about that.
