I was actually getting 18 for a day or so. After a power cycle it would not go about 10. We are between properties at the moment, so can’t post any stats. But can you tell me more about bonding? Would than mean x2 line rentals?

yes you would need to pay for 2 line rentals. Have a look here for more info on line bonding (AAISP are probably the best ISP to go for)

Yes, Cerberus Networks are the cheapest FTTPoD supplier @ £120/m   one-off install costs. Helluva lot cheaper than the £360 /m I'm paying currently to FluidOne! However the FTTPoD monthly service charges only apply  for the first 12 months, after 12 months you can migrate to a far cheaper ISP such as BT, Zen, Sky*, TalkTalk* etc for as low as £29.99 /m on the 40/10 FTTP service or £200 /m for the 1000/220 service. I'm sure you know, with FTTP you get the speed you pay for (ex contention), none of this "up to" rubbish

*due to start selling Openreach FTTP very soon

I think a dual 4G/FTTC system is the way forward for me right now.

FTTP on demand market seems to be changing fast, with prices dropping and new players entering the market. I’ll reassess in 12 months .

Benefit of this solution is that you are using two different providers so if one has issues you can fail over to the other using balancing rules.

I've provided a few bonded circuits for customers using DrayTek routers.  Some are strictly failover setups, but some are used to increase throughput, with policies to direct specific traffic one way or the other.

Pretty simple to setup via the DrayTek web UI, no CLI knowledge required.

Which Draytek models are people recommending?

The 2862, either non-wireless, 2.4ghz (n) or 2.4/5ghz (ac)

If you want one that takes a sim directly (rather than using a compatible usb dongle), it will need to be one of the L models.
